To begin when checking out a camera you fill out a sheet for you and your group. When starting to edit camera footage you begin by opening pinnacle studios. However before editing , You create a folder to store the footage on the computer . The footage from your camera can be uploaded using a SD reader.Usually when uploaded from the SD card reader the footage will be stored in the DCIM folder . Although sometimes the footage may not be available in the DCIM folder and might be found when going to private , then AVICHD , and then go to stream to find any footage that is not in the DCIM folder . In order to dump the footage on to the computer you must highlight the footage them move it to a folder . You must use the same computer to edit each time when editing . Using the same computer is useful because pinnacle studies typically do not recognize jump drives and typically only recognizes desktop files .
If in a group you will only be able to use one log in which would store the edits . Which means when logging into pinnacle studies for the first time you have to set a constant group members log in . you have to begin by importing the footage from your computer to pinnacle studies. You press the + sign which gives you a drop down option of all the folders on the computer. Which means you might want to import all footage taken that day . Only all footage that is checked will be imported after clicking start import. Raw footage will probably be the only thing imported which is anything that was previously filmed . The raw footage would be imported into the AV track 2 . The first AV track is titles while the third AV track is sound . Expand the picture by using the numbers at the bottom or even double click the picture .
Editing varies of enhancement could include cutting a clip by clicking the razor blade. If you want to add transitions or effects , right click on the clip then it will open effects editor to do transitions or effects which include changing colors. If wanting to edit the title you must press the uppercase T . A screen will pop up which gives you the ability to edit the color and font . When saving your edits you must save a copy to your desktop by going to file and saving it to your folder . However when your completely done you can export your project by making sure to save it as impeg 4 and full file size . Make sure to name the footage after your project name .
